Tax Preparation in Romeoville, IL

Romeoville is a working town. Between the logistics hubs along I-55, the BP refinery, manufacturers, truck drivers, and the students and staff at Lewis University, a lot of Romeoville residents earn income in ways that don't fit neatly into a simple W-2 box. That's exactly who we help at Progressive Tax and Accounting.

Built for the way Romeoville earns

A growing share of our work is for self-employed people and workers with complex income: truckers and CDL drivers, rideshare and delivery drivers, contractors, and small business owners. We know the deductions that apply to life on the road and on the job site: mileage, per diem, equipment, uniforms, home office expenses, because we've filed hundreds of these returns. Our office is just off West Jefferson Street in Joliet, about 15 minutes from anywhere in Romeoville via Route 53 or I-55.

Small businesses along the 53 and 135th corridors

From Route 53 to Weber Road, Romeoville keeps adding new businesses, and every one of them needs clean books. We help small business owners with:

  • Bookkeeping and monthly accounting: so you always know where your business stands
  • Payroll and certified payroll: including certified payroll for prevailing-wage and government jobs
  • New business setup: LLCs, EINs, business licensing, and choosing the right tax structure from day one
  • Quarterly estimates: so you're never surprised at tax time

IRS letters don't have to mean panic

If you've received a notice from the IRS, a balance due, a letter about unfiled years, or an audit notice, we deal with it calmly and directly. We'll call, negotiate, and set up a plan that works with your budget. One recent client switched to us at the end of a stressful tax season, and after we fit him in last minute and spent hours sorting out a difficult situation, he said he "felt so relieved" walking out.

Straight answers, no jargon

We explain your return in plain language before you sign it. We have a Spanish-speaking staff member in the office every day, and our clients rate us 5.0 stars across nearly 200 Google reviews, describing us as professional, patient, and genuinely helpful.
